Welcome! I’m Lindsey Gleason, Founder of TeamGLEAS and former NCAA DII and semi-pro volleyball player.
I started TeamGLEAS in 2012 after personally extending my collegiate athletic career and earning my master’s degree in one year from a Top 100 University in England.
I remember the moment I stumbled across the option to attend graduate school abroad and play the sport I love again. I stared at my computer screen in disbelief, convinced that studying and competing overseas was too good to be true for an average former college athlete like me, while simultaneously wishing it wasn’t.
Turns out…it wasn’t.
Earning your master’s and competing overseas isn’t just real, it’s a no-brainer. It’s a springboard to levels of fulfillment, personal growth, joy, and professional development that you’ve never imagined. It’s the answer to finding your new identity, purpose, goals, and community.
Since pursuing this global experience myself and starting TeamGLEAS, I’ve become an expert on the British collegiate sports landscape and built relationships with universities across the country that want to recruit athletes like you to help strengthen and enhance their sports programs.

Meet Lindsey

Meet Alex
Partner & Recruitment Consultant
Alex Porter brings a wealth of experience from over a decade in elite university sport. Before joining TeamGLEAS, Alex served as Head of Volleyball at the University of Essex Performance Volleyball Program and Men's Head Coach, creating the most successful team in the university’s history.
During that time, Alex guided more than 30 athletes to graduate and sign their first professional contracts and helped over 25 student-athletes earn their first national team cap while competing under his leadership. His success at Essex established him as one of the leading figures in UK university volleyball, known for developing high-performing athletes and strong, cohesive teams.
Now, as a Partner at TeamGLEAS, Alex uses that experience to help student-athletes find the right opportunities to study, compete, and grow through sport at universities across the UK. His specialist sports include American Football, Rowing, Rugby, Tennis, and Volleyball and his approach blends first-hand coaching insight with a genuine passion for athlete development.
Currently completing a PhD in Sports Performance and Coaching, Alex continues to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world athlete success, helping the next generation of student-athletes take their game and education to the next level.
Meet Ross
Partner & Recruitment Consultant
Ross has over 15 years of coaching experience and a deep passion for helping athletes reach their potential both on and off the field. A graduate of the University of Essex with a BA in Sports Management, Ross has worked with the British Basketball Federation since 2013 in a variety of roles, from Team Manager to Performance Operations, gaining extensive experience in elite sport environments.
In 2018, Ross was appointed Head Coach of the University of Essex Rebels Men’s Basketball Team. Under his leadership, the team rose from Division 4 to Division 1, competing at the highest levels of university and professional basketball.
After leaving his coaching role at the University in April, Ross joined TeamGLEAS as a Partner and Recruitment Consultant. He now focuses on connecting talented athletes with global opportunities—helping them study, compete, and grow through university sport in the UK.
Ross’s specialist sports include Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, and Track & Field, and he continues to build meaningful partnerships that open doors for athletes worldwide.
